Facing strong criticism from Congressional Republicans and conservative organizations, the Navy said Wednesday that it had suspended new guidelines that would have allowed chaplains to perform same-sex marriages.

In a memorandum last month, Rear Adm. Mark L. Tidd, the chief of Navy chaplains, declared that after the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on homosexuality is phased out later this year, naval bases should be “neutral” on questions of sexual orientation.

As Deputy Leader of the PP, I state that the PP is FOR same-sex marriage. The marriage between two citizens should not be resticted to only between a man and a women. If one desires to have a same-sex marriage then they shall be allowed to do so. We believe that there should be equal marriage requirements for all. Vote for the PP on May 23 for equality. We will better your life.

The WOP supports gay marriage. Unlike the Navy, we stand for equality in choice and freedom. Our party, however, does not support mulitiple marriages. We believe that same sex marriage ceremonies are private institutions and therefore can be held accountable for their own preferences. As for gays in the military, the Navy is right in having "neutral" questions asked, but there should be other options avaliable. If there is a problem where an uncomfortable environment may occur, then others can petition to have them removed from service or reassigned to a new unit, only if evidence is provided.

The Refresh Party supports same-sex marriages, but limitations will be placed on this issue. If elected, TRP will leave the decision to the individual states as to whether same-sex marriages are allowed. The only requirement TRP has on same-sex marriages is that it must be a closed ceremony in a private place. Vote for The Refresh Party on May 23, 2011. Refreshing the future, one vote at a time.

The Revolution Party stands for same sex marriages. The freedoms of a marriage should be given to a same sex couple because the right to marriage is a right that all people deserve. In a life or death situation, members of a crew or the Navy in general would not perform out of task. They are there to serve the country. When it's a situation that threatens national security, the country comes before the beliefs of said members. Sexual orientation should not be a problem when it comes to the function of a military branch.

The BWP believes that open homosexuality in the military would lead to problems that would harm the effectiveness in the military. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" should remain the policy in the military. The policy has worked well up until now, so the policy should not be changed. The BWP will ensure military effectiveness. Vote Beluga-Whale Party!

The TPP believes that to keep discrimination in the miltary at a minimum, the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy should not be repealed. To ensure the safety of our citizens, the military needs to operate at its highest capabilities and effectiveness. To achieve this, topics such as sexuality or same-sex marriage should not be a main focus of the military. Vote for The People's Party on May 23, 2011.

Members of the Metamorphic party strongly support same-sex marriage. We beleieve that citizens of Franklin States of America should have their personal choice of who they wish to marry. The Navy has stated that it had suspended new guidelines that would have allowed chaplains to perform same-sex marraiges. Republican members of congress along with the Navy stated that same-sex marriage would violate the defense of marriage act. By standing for same-sex marriage The Metamorphic Party will keep your individual freedoms protected. Forget the rest, get with the best. We are the change!
