The Costs of Higher Education

The Nordonia News -

There is no question that the global economy is transforming. Modern post-industrial economies, like that of the Franklin States, are increasingly becoming knowledge-based. This means the future keys to economic success rest not with manual skills but with knowledge and skills fostered through formal education.

These changes lead us to question what kind of public investment must be placed in institutes of higher education. There are no easy answers as the U.S. and European models demonstrate. In the United States, where higher education costs rest with the individuals, college tuition expenses are exploding. Many tuition rates in both state and private schools have doubled in less than ten years. These high costs are placing severe strain on the ability of many to afford college educations. In Europe a public financing system is witnessing increased fiscal strain.

The WOP plans to help those wanting to attend college. Although we cannot provide complete tuition (due to the fact that by doing so would send us into a debt), we do wish to aid. We will give grants to students who need financial aid. In doing this we hope that the people of Franklin are more open and willing to go to a place of higher education, therefore leading to an increase in the need for jobs.

The Refresh Party believes education is one of the most important issues today. We also believe if someone wants to go to college, they should. The government will be responsible for providing and funding public schools through tax money. The central government will set all of the standards. Subsidies for university level based upon student need. Public colleges will be the only university we fund. We are fighting to get children to continue their education by granting money to them.

We have a plan to relieve the financial stress placed on students to attend college. The MP is going to provide government support all the way through college. A higher education is necessary to be successful in this nation and that is why we have come up with a plan like this. We will have to requirements to receive this funding and those who are not qualified will not receive federal aid. Having requirements will prevent those who do not try from receiving full schooling. More money from our budget will be apportioned to education to fund this plan. Forget the rest, get with the best. We are the change!
