Delaware: Medical Marijuana Nears Legalization

All that is left to make medical marijuana legal in Delaware is the signature of the governor, who has said he will make it law. The bill would allow people 18 and older with certain serious or debilitating conditions that could be alleviated by marijuana to possess up to six ounces of the drug. On Wednesday by a 17-4 vote the State Senate gave its approval to the bill that cleared the House last week. It heads to the desk of Gov. Jack Markell. Under the bill, qualifying patients would be referred to state-licensed and regulated “compassion centers,” which would be responsible for growing, cultivating and dispensing the marijuana. Delaware would join 15 other states and the District of Columbia in legalizing medical marijuana.

The Refresh Party fully supports the legalization of medical marijuana. We believe that when used under certain circumstances, medical marijuana can be beneficial to the health of ill people in our country. As long as the drug is being administered to people who are truly ill medical marijuana can help lead to medical breakthroughs and bring relief to many people. Vote for The Refresh Party on May 23, 2011. Refreshing the future, one vote at a time.

We support the use of medical marijuana and hope that the governor will pass the bill. We believe that if it does get passed then it should get regulated a lot because marijuana is highly addictive but a good use for medicine. It should only be used for people that are 18 and older and have a serious medical condition. The states that pass this bill should have to regulate the use of marijuana like it is proposed in this bill. Also all other uses and ways of getting marijuana should still be illegal.

The WOP supports the legalization on medical marijuana depending on the client's medical history. A backgroud check is in order just to confirm the legal action course is taken. If marijuana is taken illegally, then the client should be held responsible for their action. However, because of a condition is needed then the marijuana will help others and help in their recovery.

The Metamorphic Party supports the legalization of medical marijuana with conditions. We believe that it should only be used with a serious/fatal medical conditions. It cannot just be picked up by anyone, or easily obtained. To obtain medical marijuana it must be prescribed by a doctor, and some sort of certificate of approval must be shown to prove that the patient needs to be prescribed to the marijuana. The MP will make sure that this is highly regulated, and aware of the circumstances that may occur, but we are prepared to face them. Forget the rest, get with the best. We are the change!
