Interest Group News

The Capital Courier -

The NEC has just released its list of recognized interest groups. The NEC has recognized and certified 11 interest groups representing a wide range of issues and views. Recognition and certification allows these groups to be actively involved in the campaign. These groups can hold rallies, fund raise, volunteer and endorse political parties. The Capital Courier in cooperation with The Franklin Times has created an interest group index which reveals the current views these groups have toward the political parties. All are encouraged to investigate this index on the Interest Group Page on the Franklin Election wiki.

The Environmental Protection Council (EPC), one of the certified interest groups, has announced its annual national convention will be held on Tuesday, April 3rd. It is inviting representatives from the seven political parties to speak at its convention. Any party interested in speaking is to reply by April 2nd with an attached speech transcript. "We hope all the parties will attend and inform our members of their plans to protect and defend our precious environment," said Eric Greene, President of EPC.

The Manisrit Party would like to inform all that we will have a representative attending the convention. We already have begun our speech and are pleased to inform voters that they will be, if nothing else, entertained during our presentation. We like to get everyone as comfortable with us as possible. Like we always say, if you're not comfortable with the party-in-government, then you're not comfortable with the government. Rest assured that you will be comfortable with us.

The Free Conservatist Party will definately be attending to inform all members at the convention about our plans for the future. We have great ideas for what is ahead and we are well prepared for our presentation. We are sure to catch the attention of everyone at the convention and believe that we can count on the people for their opinions and support.

The MOR Party will have representatives attend this event. We want the people to hear our presentation concerning our plans to cut green house gas emissions and provide funding for alternative fuel sources. We want to develop guidelines for solar power and wind power suppliers. It would be a mistake to distribute funds based on excitement of a new product, and guidelines will lead to selecting thriving, long-term alternative fuel suppliers.

We also wish to work with major corporations to implement incentive based programs to encourage industries to cut green house gas emissions.

The Liberal States Party wuld like to accept the invitation to the convention. Environmental issues are high up on our list for things to change. Global warming has been pushed to the side now for too long and we will not stand for this. The environment needs our attention so we plan to give it some. The war and economy is important but if we do not have clean air to breath than we can not live so nothing else will matter. We plan to enforce more strict health codes for factories and to attack pollution problems. We would also like to address grocery store's use of plastic bags and the amount of garbage produced but the average family. All these problems have not been addressed and the conservative parties could careless. We of the LSP inform you all that id elected to office it will be our time to clean up and save our precious Earth. Thank you all for the invite and your time. We look forward to meeting you all.
