Pirate Attack

The Franklin Times -

A Franklin oil tanker was seized by pirates off the Somali coast early this morning. The seizure of the tanker marks the first time a Franklin vessel has been captured in this dangerous part of the world. While the incident marks the first Franklin connection, it by no means represents the first pirate attack in these waters. Pirates, based on the Somali coast, have been engaged in a quickly expanding enterprise of capturing and ransoming sea-going vessels.
Initial reports indicate that twenty-one crew members were also seized but there are no indications as to their well being. This poses an interesting foreign policy question for the newly formed political parties. What if anything can be done to reduce this threat?

The ReaganKnights will do anything necessary to get our ship and its crew back and prevent further hijackings in the future. One plan is to send naval warships to Somali. We will only attack if we are attacked first, but we will get our ship back one way or the other.

The MAD party will like to make this perfectly clear. We do not negotiate with any terrorist group or organization. We will not tolerate this action which is a direct front against our pristine nation. We will counter this by any means neccessary. As long as it includes the safe return of all FSA citizens held in captivity.

When dealing with a terrorist group that holds more than twenty of our citizens hostage, negotitation is the only form of action possible in order to save innocent lives. Military action will push this terrorist group to the extreme, likely resulting in the death of these crew members. Our mission is to save F.S. lives, not take them. After negotiations have been met and the crew members along with our ship are safely returned, we can pursue military action. Remember, terrorists take people hostage for a reason. There must be something they desire out of this and we will give that to them. There is no price tag on a life.
